Wedding Planning

So, I'm finding out that wedding planning....is NOT fun.  I'm getting stressed to the mas and I'm not the one doing most of the planning.  Money doesn't grow on trees, but I sure wish it did.  We've got so much to do, still, and we're not even close to having everything done...mostly because of money!  Why does this world have to revolve around money??  I wish we were in the days of old, where we would trade bulls and sheep for wood and wheat.  What happened to helping out whenever possible instead of growing your own personal bank account as much as possible?!

Lord, help us!  We need it...not as much as others, obviously, but we still need it.  You are our revuge and strength.  We can fly because of you!

Weekend Recap

The Duke game was A-mazing!  Sure they beat their opponents by 41 points, but it was just great getting to be there and really experience everything first hand.  There's is truly nothing like Cameron Indoor Stadium.  The Cameron Crazies are nuts and creative.  They are non-stop action, much like the players.  There was hardly ever a dull moment and that's just the fans.  Seeing the players in real life did not disappoint.  They are huge and they are phenomenal athletes.  I was so impressed with how they played and how excited the players on the bench get for the players in the game.  When Miles Plumlee posterized that dude on a pass from Gbinije, I nearly jumped out of my seat.  And then when Mason went reverse going baseline, I DID jump out of my seat.  Those Plumlees are amazing athletes.

It was a great first game, but I sure hope it's not my last!  Duke/UNC is still on my bucket list and I hope it gets crossed off sooner rather than later.

Go Duke!!

Duke Game

So, it's finally happening...I'm going to my FIRST DUKE GAME EVER!  Talk about exciting.  I've been a Duke fan for a long time now and the thought of going to a Duke game was always exciting to me.  Now the reality of it actually happening is almost unbelievable.  Yeah, they're playing a crappy team, but I'm still so excited to be a Cameron Crazie.  The atmosphere of being in Cameron Indoor for a real game, the legendary Coach K, college basketball...it's truly a mecca of college hoops!

We're flying out on Friday afternoon and we'll arrive in Durham sometime later that afternoon.  We'll be at the game super early so we can scout everything out and take everything in.  We're so friggin excited!!!

Until next time fan...

College Basketball Version 2011-2012

Excitement doesn't begin to describe how this upcoming season makes me feel.  I am a Duke fan all the way, but I'm also a realist.  Duke is going to be good.  Can they win the national championship? Sure.  Will they?  Probably not.  North Carolina looks very good this year.  Most of us already know this.  That's about the only thing about college basketball that I'm not excited about.  Other than that, you've got TONS of talent returning (Sullinger, Barnes, Henson, T. Jones) and lots coming in (Drummond, Rivers, A. Davis).  It should make for a great season and a great draft.

What I love about college basketball more than anything, however, isn't necessarily the players and coaches.  It's the hustle and pride.  Most kids love playing for the name on the front of the jersey and that's what makes college basketball what it is.  Having a kid dive over the first row for a ball in the 3rd game of the season wouldn't happen in the NBA, but in NCAA it will.

Can NOT wait!!!
